I.T.S Engineering College, Greater Noida celebrated its annual National Science Day to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir C V Raman on 28 February 1928.
The event was graced by Dr. Vikas Singh- Executive Director of I.T.S Engineering College; Dr. Gagan Deep Arora – Dean Academics & Administration; Dr. Sanjay Yadav – Dean Students’ Welfare and Prof. O.P. Chaudhary – Head of the host department (Applied Science and Humanities).
The students brimming with curiosity along with the members of the faculty were all set to attend this event. The event had two interactive segments- Poster Presentation & Declamation contest
Seeing the success of the event, it was decided to celebrate it with more activities and, may be for a longer duration from the next time.
National Science Day is celebrated every year to widely spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people to display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. It is celebrated to discuss all the issues and implement new technologies for the development in the field of science; to give an opportunity to the scientific minded citizens in the country and to encourage the people as well as popularize Science and Technology.
Program Outcome:
Like any other important day, the National Science Day too has been a very significant occasion. Any scientifically driven and logically inclined person would take pride in celebrating the National Science Day as it becomes all the more important for the reason that it is the discovery of Raman’s Effect.
ITS Engineering College being a technical institution celebrated the occasion for instigating various logical thought processes besides working as a team.
The following outcomes were achieved out of the event-
1. The teaching fraternity could brainstorm in a particular direction
2. The authorities concerned could instigate the feeling of working in unison
3. The faculty and students collaborated to show their reasoning and other related skills
4. To foster the feeling of team work
Scope of Improvement:
• Students from various departments can get involved to make event more successful
• Complex problems such as quizzes, mathematical or scientific problems can be introduced
