Land Acquisition Funds for Jewar Airport expected to be sanctioned in Upcoming Cabinet Meeting!

For Jewar International Airport Uttar Pradesh State Government is expected to sanction INR 330 cores in upcoming month. A cabinet meeting is going to be held on 5 December in Lucknow and sources reveal that their is high probability that during this meeting decision on sanctioning a grant for Jewar Airport will be taken by the cabinet.

As per regulations, for land acquisition process an amount of 10% of total compensation is mandatory to be submitted with the draft but till now this amount has not been sanctioned by the government. Hence the process of acquiring land for the airport can not be initiated. Now all eyes are on the upcoming cabinet meeting for the clearance of funds so that the process can be initiated.

Given that BJP state regime has been very keen to fast-forward the development of Jewar Airport and all required clearance for the same have been already obtained, hence the expert opinion is that funds will be sanctioned without any hassle.

As soon as the funds are received the Yamuna Authority, which is the nominated nodal agency for Jewar Airport Development Project, it will forward the same to the district administration so that draft can be sent to government and Act of acquisition 4 & 9 can be invoked. A draft regarding land acquisition has already been sent to the District Administration and as soon as the funds required for the same is received the process will begin without any further delay.
