All You Need To Know About JEE Mains 2017

JEE or Joint Entrance Exam is a national level entrance engineering exam conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) for students who aspire to get into the prestigious institutes of the country like IIT, ISM, NIT, IIIT, GFTI, etc.
IITJEE is conducted in 2 stages, namely,
1. JEE Main
2. JEE Advance

JEE Mains can be considered the first step, to get into IIT. JEE Mains is the qualifying exam for JEE Advance. The top 200,000 (2 lakh) students who clear JEE Mains are eligible to take JEE Advanced. Students who clear JEE Mains are eligible to take admissions in NIT, IIT and GFTI whereas students who clear the prescribed rank for JEE Advanced are eligible to take up admissions in institutes like various IIT and ISM.

JEE Mains 2017 – Important Dates
IIT aspirants should circle the important dates of JEE Mains 2017 on their calendars. Though CBSE has not yet announced all the dates, thedates of conduction of Joint Entrance Exam Mains2017 and the result have been announced.

JEE Main 2017 – Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for Joint Entrance Exam 2017 are as follows,
1. Age limit
• For students belonging to General Category, The date of birth should fall on or after October 1st, 1992.
• For students belonging to SC/ST and Physically disabled students, DOB should fall on or after October 1st, 1987

2. Class 12 Exam
• Candidates appearing for CBSE class 12 exam in the year 2017 are eligible (whose DOB is on or after October 1st, 1992)
• Candidates who have passed Class 12 exams in the year 2016 are eligible
• Candidates who have cleared Class 12 exams in the year 2015 or before that do not qualify for JEE Mains 2017
• Candidates who wrote class 12 Exam in 2015 and didn’t qualify, but cleared in 2016 are also not eligible to take up JEE Main 2017

3. Subjects in Class 12
• Candidates taking up JEE should take up atleast5subjects in the 12th board exam
• Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are mandatory subjects

4. Number of Attempts
• A candidate can take up JEE Mains only thrice, i.e., make only 3 attempts

JEE Mains 2017 – Application form

Application forms for JEE Mains will be released in the month of December
• The filling of JEE Main 2017 application form has to be done through online
• The only mode available is online, and no other means of application form filling are available
• A candidate is eligible to submit only one application form, more than one form filling will lead to rejection.

JEE Mains 2017 – Application form correction
There are chances that candidates might have made a mistake while filling the JEE Mains 2017 application form or else due to a technical glitch, there can be a few errors which candidates can rectify.
• Candidates can apply for change during the correction window
• Only valid entries will be taken into consideration

• Paper 1 – For students who want to take B.Tech/B.E
• Paper 2 – For students who want to take B.Arch
