I.T.S Engineering College hosted the innovation challenge Ideathon 2024 organised by Navrachna Foundation on 31st July, 2024. The event was coordinated by NewGen IEDC and Navrachna Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development jointly. Ideathon 2024 is a technology-based innovation event to foster problem-solving skills while promoting entrepreneurial activities among the student of professional courses. The contest inspires participants to identify some of the most bugging problems and then turn them into tangible solutions to help improve our society. During a students’ journey, we aim to equip students with skills and knowledge that go far beyond technical, including critical thinking, creative thinking, communicating, and collaborating skills, required for the future entrepreneurs. The event started at 10:30 AM with the welcome speech by Dr Mayank Garg, Director of I.T.S Engineering College, Greater Noida, after which the entire participants were addressed by Dr S. P. Mishra, advisor of I.T.S Education Group.
Around 72 teams of various Colleges and institutes participated from PAN India out of which 33 were selected after a preliminary screening, 22 teams were present in the offline pitching mode and the rest 9 were present in the online pitching mode, two panels were created for the pitching activity, first headed by Mr. J.S Rana – Owner of Prasar Metal, Dr. Rahul Singh – Head of Medical Incubation GIMS, Mr. Imran Yusuf – Project Manager, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Mr. Anshuman Singh Chauhan – Head of C.S.R, IIT Roorkee,Dr. S. P. Mishra – Advisor I.T.S Group of Education and Mr. Agha Asim Husain Assistant Professor, Department of ECE of I.T.S Engineering College. The Second panel for the pitching of online participants, were headed by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Mr. Vivek Kumar Singh – Director Innovant Energotech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Chetan Dixit, project coordinator, NewGen IEDC, Mr. Shashwat Pandey, Project Associate NewGen IEDC.
A total of six teams were the winning teams, three in the third position, two in the second position, and one winner team. The top 10 teams were selected for the Grant of ₹2.5L of NewGen IEDC for the development of Proof of Concept of their ideas. Another 5 teams were selected which will receive, mentoring support to refine their ideas by the process of Design Thinking.
