G.I.M.S. Greater NOIDA achieves a landmark 1.1 LAKH COVID -19 vaccination

Government Institute of Medical Sciences, Greater Noida (GIMS) successfully vaccinated 1.1 lakh people. The institute has been a part of the largest vaccination drive in the country and one of the fastest vaccination centres in the state to attain such target.

GIMS has been an active part of the Covid Vaccination Drive in India, by far the largest drive in the world. The GIMS center started the drive on 16th January 2021 as the Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi flagged off the national drive and GIMS stayed at the forefront of the drive ever since. The vaccination drive was planned meticulously by a team of doctors and GIMS has reported minimal AEFI. The center is fully equipped with CODE Blue team and no serious adverse reactions have been reported so far. The team observed each individual as per the prescribed protocols and all vaccines were administered in a systematic manner keeping any side effects and minimizing the waiting period. The Institute has established two “Code Blue” stations, which can take care of any serious/ life threatening side effects of vaccine.

At present all the individual of 18+ age group was covered in the drive beginning May 1st. Currently, lactating and pregnant women have also been administered the vaccine. GIMS has achieved the landmark of 110,000 vaccines being administered. GIMS remains committed to the drive at an accelerated pace and will not stop till all individuals within its reach are fully vaccinated with both the doses..

As the rules and regulations kept evolving so did the team equip itself with all the upcoming challenges. During the drive, all doses of the vaccines were carefully protected in the prescribed temperature and conditions, preventing all kinds of wastages.
