National Human Rights Commission has issued notice to Uttar Pradesh Government over allegations of fake encounter of alleged criminal Sumit Gurjar on night of 3 October.
Family members of Sumit Gurjar have approached NHRC seeking there intervention in the case. Sumit Gurjar was shot during an encounter in Sector Chi 4 area of Greater Noida.
He had recieved 4 bullet injuries and was declared brought dead when shifted to hospital.
He had a reward of 50,000 on his head which was declared a day before the said encounter.
However family of Sumit Gurjar allege that he had no criminal history and the encounter was choreographed by the police after picking up the convict from Bagpat on 30th September.
