Training Program on “Embedded Systems, Robotics with IOT” held at ITS Engineering College

On the occasion of IEEE Day, IEEE student branch- STB 16051, ECE Department, ITS Engineering College has organised a training programme on September 18, 2023- October 5, 2023, 29th Nov to 2nd December by senior embedded engineer Mr. Prateek Mishra. The training was started with a welcome address by Dr. Mayank Garg, Director, I.T.S Engineering College. The guest was welcomed by Prof. (Dr.) Monika Jain, HOD-ECE & Branch Counsellor.IEEE and Non-IEEE students and faculty participated in the event enthusiastically. All the participants were awarded with the certificates. The expert Mr. Prateek has brief about the embedded C programming and their application with Arduino Uno and other microcontroller boards. Then he explained about the IoT platforms and their devices application. The training covered hands on experience on their kits in which all the sensors, motors were integrated. The students also learnt about PCB designing and designed their circuits. Then the students were introduced to Bluetooth sensors, and they built project susingit , some of which included reading the values of Temperature & humidity sensors on their phones, making a mini home automation system, and controlling it using android Smartphone and their voice. In totality, that day 20 projects were completed. The participants made an app that can search for Bluetooth connections, connect to the required Bluetooth device, and then operate a LED or any real time device) connected to that Bluetooth from anywhere using anybody’s android smart phone and Arduino. Then the participants learnt the concept of ethernet and network bridging which was used to determine the IP address of the given Arduino. Also, Thing Speak was used to create a channel through which any person around the world can operate the circuit they made, if provided with the account details and password.

The concept of Robotics was introduced to the students. Various parameters regarding types of Robots, applications was also touched. After the introductory part students wrote their very own program Line Follower Robot. The day also brought competitive spirit among the students as prior information IOT Competition was conducted.

During the training, students asked questions regarding the topics and were very satisfied with the answers from expert. The Engineer was given a Token of Appreciation. On the last day of the training the students get the certificate of excellence according to their performance in quiz and presentation organized by the expert.

The outcome of training was to equip individuals with a robust skill set, making them proficient in designing, developing, and implementing embedded systems and IoT solutions in diverse practical scenarios across industries.
