Greater Noida, 24th June 2023: The Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology successfully organized an international conference on Emerging Technology in Health Care, streamed on YouTube. The esteemed event welcomed the Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), T. G. Sitharam, as its chief guest, who shared insights with Ten News during an engaging interview.

Promoting Eco-Friendly and Affordable Cycles

During the interview, Chairman T. G. Sitharam shed light on AICTE’s endeavors to promote eco-friendly and affordable cycles. Highlighting the unique design and emphasis on sustainable mobility, he praised the cycle’s energy-efficient nature, requiring no external power source. Inspired by the Namma Nimma cycle in Bengaluru, AICTE has developed a similar bicycle design, with credit attributed to the talented students involved in its creation. Sitharam expressed optimism in the cycle’s success, emphasizing the significance of design thinking and the positive reception of this environmentally-friendly product.

One Student One Tree Campaign

Addressing the importance of environmental conservation, Chairman Sitharam discussed AICTE’s “One Student One Tree” campaign. Recognizing the critical role of the environment in our daily lives, the initiative aims to encourage students to plant trees. In 2020, over 34 lakh saplings were planted by students as part of a similar effort. This year, the target has been set at planting one crore saplings. Sitharam expressed his hope that not only students from India but also those from international institutions would actively participate in this campaign, fostering a global movement towards a greener future. He emphasized the need for educational institutions to function sustainably and encouraged them to strive for net-zero status.

AICTE Connect Magazine Launch

In the interview, Chairman Sitharam unveiled the AICTE Connect magazine, showcasing its distinctive features. The publication serves as a comprehensive source of information, covering various activities and initiatives undertaken by AICTE. It disseminates new policies, guidelines, and achievements, serving as a vital communication medium for students. With a focus on reaching all students, the magazine acts as a platform for sharing student-related news and accomplishments.
