Greater Noida (07/05/2022): Grads International School organised an NEP 2020 Art Integration Workshop for teachers on 7th May 2022. The program was organised in association with Kokuyo Camlin.
Principal Ms Aditi Basu Roy welcomed Chief guest Dr. Mayuri Dutta, Psychologist, vetaran educationist, a resource person from the CBSE and a member of Vigyan Bharati with memento. She also wecomed guests of honour Mrs. Madhupi Bhattacharya who is an Art Educator and PGT Fine Arts at Ryan International School and Mrs. Deepa Rani, the Principal of Curious Mind School, as well as teachers from various schools who had come to participate in the event.
Starting with Ice breaking activity where teachers made aeroplanes using newspapers, Dr. Mayuri Dutta highlighted the various points related to Art Integration that schools need to inculcate in their curriculum. She focussed on various learning styles (Visual, Auditory, Kinaesthetic and Tactile) which would effectively mould the passive learners into active learners.
Ms. Vijaya from Kokuyo Camlin involved teachers in an intriguing bamboo painting activity to give a hands on feel of the use of colours in Art Integration.
This was followed by a cultural activity presented by the students of Grads International School to pay tribute to Rabindranath Tagore on his 161st birth anniversary . The students presented a duet dance and a group dance from Rabindranath Tagore’s famous play Chandalika. Chandalika is a part of CBSE Grade 12 Elective English coursebook. This also made the performance an interesting example of art integration into academics.
