DPS Greater Noida celebrates the ‘Silver Jubilee Year’ with great splendor

Delhi Public School, Greater Noida, organised the ‘Curtain Raiser Ceremony’ of ‘The Silver Jubilee Year, 2022’ on April 15, 2022, amidst great splendor, mirth and zest. Kathak doyenne, Dr. (Smt) Shovana Narayan, embellished the event with her valuable presence.

Among the other dignitaries present were the distinguished guests from The DPS Society, Alumni, Parent Representatives, Press and members from DPS, Greater Noida family.

The programme commenced with the welcome of the guests followed by the lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp. The invocation song adjuring the eternal deity, Agni, to dispel darknessand to lead the audience towards an enlightened state of existence, ‘अग्नि तुम ही इष्ट हो’, performed by the school choir, marked the initiation of the programme.

The Principal, Ms. Sandhya Awasthi, welcomed the guests and the gathering. The symposium was affirmed that the school stands firm and indomitable for 25 years as an institution for imparting a tradition of bringing the best possible in the students and giving them the voice that would be their
own.

The audience then was filled with enthusiasm by the inspiring words of the Vice-Chairman, The DPS Society, Mr. V K Chaturvedi. It followed the majestic rendition of the story of ‘Eklavya’ from the great epic, ‘Mahabharata’, in the form of a dance performance, ‘अनेकलव्य : गाथा अनंत आशाओं की’. The performance included a plethora of budding artists from the school, bringing forth the possibilities of the existence of many more Eklavyas, till date. Everyone sat glued to the production. The audience was then addressed by the Guest-of-honour for the day, Ms. Vrinda Sarup, Chairperson, DPS Greater Noida. The esteemed guest opined that the school is a reputed school of the city and the credit for taking it to such height of success goes to the relentless and dedicated efforts of its teachers and staff members,
emerging as warriors in the field of education.

The line of events concluded with the magnificent performance of the great Kathak maven, Dr. (Smt) Shovana Narayan, member, The DPS Society. The audience was mesmerised by her quintessential performance.

The vote of thanks was proposed followed by the culmination of the programme with the National Anthem. The event emerged as an array of artists from various fields and progressed towards being a festival, a celebration of multitudinous talents.
