Inauguration & White Coat Ceremony of 3rd Batch of MBBS at GIMS

Greater Noida (26/02/2022): The 3rd batch of MBBS was formally inaugurated in the evening on 25th Feb. 2022.  Dr G Suryanarayan Raju (Member, Medical Assessment & Rating Board, National Medical Commission) was the Chief Guest for this occasion.  Dr Kiran Bedi, IPS, Former Lt. Governor of Puducherry also delivered a Keynote address.

The program commenced at 5 PM in the evening with a soulful performance by the National School of Drama, COVID-19: A Sojourn.  This was followed by formal inauguration by lamp lighting by the Chief Guest, the director, CMS and Dean of GIMS.  The Director, Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh Gupta addressed the gathering and the annual report was read by the Dean, Dr Rambha Pathak.  As a symbol of healing for healthcare professionals and building trust in the doctor-patient relationship, the newly joined MBBS students were presented with white coat in front of their proud parents by all the Professors.

The director delivered Charak Samhita Oath to the students, wherein they promise to work for the good of suffering humanity and treat their patients.  The Chief Guest later addressed the gathering and presented certificates presented to a few faculty awarded by the dept. of Medical Education for their contribution during the pandemic.  Dr Kiran Bedi IPS, former LG, Puducherry delivered the Keynote address on “Grooming Leadership” online.

She congratulated the budding doctors for choosing this noble profession and motivated them to keep up the spirits within them alive.  The in inauguration ended with vote of thanks by the CMS. The students presented cultural programme hosted by the students themselves. It included solo dance, solo song, group dance and song performances by the students.
