CME on “Advanced Methods of CSSD & its role in Hospital Infection Control” at GIMS, Greater Noida

A CME on “Advanced Methods of CSSD and its role in Hospital Infection Control” was conducted on 11/09/2021, at Patanjali  Hall  GIMS, Greater Noida by the Department of Microbiology and Department of Anaesthesiology, in collaboration with Sunrise & Company and ISA Noida GB Nagar Branch to discuss topics on recent advances in methods of sterilization and role of CSSD in hospital infection control and formulation of hospital infection control policy. Director (Brig) Dr Rakesh Gupta inaugurated the event and emphasized that we should use the CSSD facility efficiently, judiciously and appropriately. There was active participation by large number of delegates from various other institutes. Dr A K Jain Dean NINS, Greater Noida, Dr Mukul Jain, Prof & Head Anesthesia SSPGHTI, Dr Arti Srivastava, Prof & Head Anesthesia, SMS&R. CMS & Dean, GIMS were also present during the CME. Dr Nazia Nazir, Associate Professor & Head, Department of  Anesthesiology introduced the CSSD, its scope, layout and designing at GIMS. Dr Varun Goel, described the infection control in the context of COVID.  Dr A K Sahni, Professor & Head, Department of  Microbiology, emphasised upon the newer methods of sterilization used in CSSD at GIMS.  Dr Kapil Singhal, Senior consultant Metro hospital Greater Noida, (President ISA GB Nagar) described the importance and implementation of efficiency tests employed in CSSD which has a role in hospital infection control practices.
