Odisha Jana Seva Sangathan feeds Odia labourers in hard times amid lockdown

In an attempt to help the Odia labourers settled in and around Greater Noida, Odisha Jana Seva Sangathan (OJSS) started one community kitchen to serve Cooked food to odia labourers in this lockdown period from 18 April 2020 to 17 May 2020.

It was supported by Odia Samaj , Delhi and Rashtriya Prabasi Odia Paribar Delhi NCR. Santanu Mohnaty (Deepu) has been delivering these cooked food packets by using his personal car to 250 odia members. Mr. Minaketan Samal, Mr. Prabeer Mohanty, Bhagirathi Giri, G S Nayak, Amiya Pradhan, Trupti Ranjan Bhuyan, J K Sahu, Swaroop Kar, Gouri Mishra and Partha Mohanty are the OJSS core team members who have coordinated this tremendous effort. For this Mr. Amiya Pradhan has converted his house as control room for co-ordination and distribution.

There were two kitchen running simultaneously. Morning Kitchen was running at IIMT hostel Canteen from where 700 cooked food packets are being delivered to odia and non odia families. Upto 3rd May Evening Kitchen was running at Shiv Mandir Temple premises in Delta- I, Greater Noida. Then kitchen was shifted F- 39 , Delta-I, Greater Noida. Mr. Mukunda Murari Sahoo was the head cook, who happens to be head cook of Jagannath Temple Greater Noida. Saroj, Akshaya, Shankar, Gobendra and Meera were helping the head cook. Each day’s expenditure was being donated by each OJSS member. Same food packet is distributed in 08 places to the local co-ordinator.
This effort of OJSS team is highly appreciated by Rashtriya Prabasi Odia Paribar Delhi NCR and special appreciation was given to Santanu Mohnaty (Deepu) for his selfless service to mankind. This community kitchen service was concluded on 17 May 2020.
