NIET in association with BOAT (NR), Kanpur conducts HR Conclave focusing on Apprenticeship Training Scheme

Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology, Gr. Noida conducted its HR Conclave 2019 – “Industry awareness meet on Apprenticeship Training Scheme” on Oct 12, 2019 at its campus in collaboration with Board of Apprenticeship Training (Northern Region) under MHRD. 

Prof. (Dr) D.S. Chauhan, Chairman, BOAT (NR); Mr. S.K. Mehta, Director, BOAT (NR); Mr. A.K. Srivastava, Deputy Director, BOAT (NR); Mr. Raman Batra – Executive Vice President, NIET Dr. Vinod Kapsee, Director- NIET, graced the event with their presence. 200+ Human Resource (HR) representatives from varied private and government organizations also witnessed this mega event.

Board of Apprenticeship Training (Northern Region), Kanpur is an Authority implementing ‘National Apprenticeship Training Scheme’ under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under which students of sandwich courses and fresher’s holding a Degree/Diploma in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy / HMCT/ Architecture etc. are facilitated “On-the-Job” training in Industries/Organizations under The Apprentices Act, 1961(as amended till date) referred herein after Act.

The main objective of this conclave was to facilitate practical trainings to students/aspirants in industries under the Act and create skilled manpower with expected level of competencies. It further aimed to establish and strengthen liaison among Heads of HR Departments of Industries and concerned Officers of the Board to enable the maximum possible number of fresh passed out students acquire practical training in the industries.

Introducing the theme of the conclave, Prof. Dr. D. S Chauhan, chairman, BOAT (NR);  highlighted how “National Apprenticeship Training Scheme” is guiding and assisting industries of varied domain to comply with the provisions of the Act with the focused approach to improve standards of training.

Mr. S.K. Mehta, Director, BOAT (NR), in his keynote address highlighted the focused approach of BOAT in  creating the awareness about the recent developments / amendments of the Act and updates in National portal www.mhrdnats.gov.in modules amongst the Heads and representatives of HR department of various Industries.

The event was also graced by the presence of Mr. A.K. Srivastava, Deputy Director, BOAT (NR), who enlightened the session on Post- Apprenticeship Permanent Employment (PAPE).

Mr. Raman Batra, Executive Vice President, NIET, while appreciating the event highlighted the existent gap between the corporate requirements and the academia and as address some of the underlying challenges. He said “NIET aims to deliver innovative, holistic, 21st century andragogy by transforming students’ learning experience through technology, programs and services. He further extended a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and attendees and shared his inspiring words with the participating industries representatives and officials of BOAT (NR).
