The Department of Pedodontics& Preventive Dentistry, ITS Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Greater Noida celebrated the Children’s Day on 14th November 2018.
On this occasion I.T.S Dental College started a new initiative of Children’s Day special week from 12th Nov to 17th Nov 2018 in which the College will provide free basic treatment for the children under age of 14 yrs visiting the dental college.
Dr. Mousami Goswami , Head of the Department Dept of Pedodontics, spoke that this drive will help to create the awareness about importance of oral health among the children of the society. She also told that they had organized the Free Donation Drive from 12th Nov 2018 in which various donation boxes were put up at strategic locations of the campus. The faculty & students of the college donated things like toothbrush, toothpaste, pen, pencil, notebooks etc for the underprivileged children of the society.
On this occasion, more than 45 under privileged children from nearby labor colonies of the Knowledge Park III, visited the college. The dept had organized free dental checkup and treatment program for these children. To make them feel special, coloring competition, various games were also organized for them. Department distributed free toothpastes, tooth brushes, pens, pencils to these children.
Dr Sachit Anand Arora, Principal, applauded the efforts done by Dept of Pedodontics in organizing this special drive for the under privileged children. He told that it is very important to create awareness among the children of the society regarding importance of milk teeth. He told that people do not give importance to their child milk teeth as according to them they will fall and new teeth will come in coming years. He told these children are the future leaders of the society so efforts should be made to create awareness among them.
Mr. Sohil Chadha, Vice Chairman, I.T.S – The Education Group, congratulated the Dept of Pedodontics team for organizing such drive. He said it is the endeavor of the group to create awareness among the people about importance of the oral health. He said that it is the social responsibility of each and everyone in the society to help the under privileged section of the society.
The event came to an end with the cake cutting ceremony and free snacks distribution to these children.
