For causing air pollution NGT has issued a notice to 150 builders of the Noida-Greater Noida region. Builders have allegedly stored the construction raw materials in open sites cause dusting in nearby areas. This is also against the NGT order which clearly says to keep construction material covered while on site or during transportation.
After the order from NGT environment ministry had also released a notification regarding raw materials storage and its dumping. It says that raw material must not be dumped in open at construction sites because it leads to dusting in the area and dilutes pollutants in the air. Ministry had issued this notification on 25th January 2018. For now in Greater Noida around 203 major construction sites are functional and most of them had dumped their raw material in open. Most do not even sprinkle water to control the dusting as guided by the NGT. It is important as per regulations that raw materials should be covered and water should be sprinkled over it from time to time.
DGM (Planning) of Greater Noida Authority Nimish Sharma informed that 150 builders have been given notice for flouting norms at construction sites.
