Two mobile showroom of same owner robbed in Jagat Farm, Greater Noida

Two mobile stores of the same owner in Greater Noida were burgled by unidentified men in the early hours of Saturday. The incident took place near a police post in Jagat Farms following which the in-charge of the post was suspended by senior superintendent of police.

“One of the shop was opposite the police check post. However, the police did not even realise that burglers had struck. That is the reason why the post in-charge was suspended,” SSP, Ajay Pal Sharma said.

According to the shop owner, RD Sharma, goods worth 28 30 lakh were stolen during the incident which took place around 3am. “More than 50 mobile phones were stolen. The scale of theft was higher in the Jagat Farms store. The other shop is located in the Alpha commercial belt, almost two kilometres from the other one,” Sharma, a resident of Beta 2, said.

He added that the accused got inside the shop by breaking the shutters. He added that both the shops have CCTV cameras.

“It is clear in the CCTV footage that there were three men inside the shop,” said Sharma, who has been running these shops for more than 18 years.

“We are scanning the CCTV footage and are trying to gather as many clues as we can,” Brijesh Kumar Verma, station house officer, Kasna police station, said.
