Mr. Jawed Ashraf, High Commissioner of India inaugurated India Pavilion on 8th March, 2018 at International Furniture Fair Singapore 2018 setup by EPCH with the support of Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. The fair is featuring a comprehensive range of furniture, furnishing, decorative accessories, interiors and fittings by a diverse portfolio of quality exhibitors from almost 40 countries, and offer an unparalleled outreach to the highly dynamic market.
Singapore is amongst India’s largest trade and investment partner in ASEAN and accounted for 22.13 % of our overall trade with ASEAN. It is the second largest investor in India with as share of 16% of total FDI received during April to December 2015. Our economic and commercial ties have expanded significantly in recent years, particularly after the conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement.
India’s exports of handicrafts to the Singapore were USD 20.98 million in 2016-17. Focus on India at this fair will help in further boosting exports, said Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director of EPCH.
