The Uttar Pradesh’s transport department on Friday became strict against the over-aged vehicles, banning not only their operation but their existence itself in the state’s seven districts under the NCR.
The department has also started checking whether the construction material transported by the vehicles was properly covered or not. Because of the smog causing low visibility is also resulting in increased number of road mishaps in the NCR region “We have asked the RTOS to seize the diesel and petrol vehicles older than 10 years and 15 years, respectively, if found in any of the NCR districts,” principal secretary, transport, Aradhana Shukla told.
