I.T.S Centre for Clinical Excellence (ITSCCE) at I.T.S Dental College, Greater Noida organized a Lecture & Hands-on Workshop Advanced Implantology Hands on workshop on Immediate Implant Placement in collaboration with Dentium Implants (Korea) on 11 th April 2017 in which more than 100 students and faculty from North India participated. The Guest Speaker for the occasion was Dr Tushar Chawla from New Delhi. Also present on the occasion was Vice Chairman, I.T.S – The Education Group- Mr Sohil Chadha , Mr B.K Arora, Secretary, Mr Surinder Sood, Director, Public Relations, Director – PG Studies, Prof Akshay Bhargava, Principal – Dr Puneet Ahuja all Dental & Medical HOD’s. On this occasion Merit awards were also given to the students who had bought laurels to I.T.S –The Education group by topping the C.C.S University and securing ranks in the BDS University examination conducted by Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut in November 2016. Farukh Masudi of BDS Second year & Aayushi Sanghal of BDS Final year were given cash scholarships & certificates for securing 1 st rank in the University examination for first year & third year. Awards and certificates were also conferred to the students who were top 10 rankers in the college in every year of BDS curriculum. Students who had secured top three rank in the respective subjects were also felicitated in the function.Mr Sohil Chadha in his address spoke about the fine quality of education being rendered by the Institution. Also, in his message he spoke about the importance of doctors in the lives of common people. He said these awards are always given to meritorioius students to encourage the students to strive and make the Institute amongst the best in the Country. Director, Dr AKshay Bhargava gave his blessings on this occasion to the meritorious students who had secured rank in the University examination. He emphasized that the seeds of knowledge sown in the minds of young students are nourished by the extraordinary hard work of the teachers as well. He said that ITSCCE is established with the vision to provide cutting edge education with clinically immersive and evidenced based programs that will transform the professional lives. Dr.Puneet Ahuja, Principal extended a warm welcome to all the guests and delegates and appreciated the efforts of the organising team for conducting this kind of workshop. He told that the programs under ITSCCCE are mentored by leaders in the field accredited both nationally and internationally with limited members to provide an intensive and clinically
immersive experience that would take away the skills and knowledge directly to practice and professional lives. He said thatbthe education provided tom the students by the Institute should be used not just to earn money but to serve needy people with dedication and commitment.Director PG studies, Dr Bhargava demonstrated a live surgery on Immediate Implamt Placement on the patient with the help of Video Conferencing Dr Tushar Chawla delivered the key note lecture on how to place the implants in the patients immediately after extraction. He told that it is possible to place implant even in the sites where there is very little bone left with the help of newer surgical techniques.Dr Amit Jayna, Prof & Head, Dept of Prosthodontics spoke about the various bone grafting
techniques. He also stressed about the use of various material used for bone grafting.After the lectures there was a Hands- On program in which participants performed Immediate implant placement independently in freshly harvested goat jaws. The program was well appreciated by all the participants . The one day event provided them with recent updates in the field of implantology which helped the participants in developing an edge over the others in clinical competency.
