Greater Noida Institute of Technology Collaborates with TOI and Mercedes Benz for E-Waste Awareness Session

On March 18th, the Training Department of Greater Noida Institute of Technology spearheaded a crucial initiative in environmental awareness and sustainability through a session on e-waste management. In collaboration with Times of India and Mercedes Benz, the session targeted B.Tech students, emphasizing the significance of responsible e-waste disposal.

Ms. Deepika Pandey from the Times of India graced the event, underscoring the gravity of the e-waste issue. E-waste poses severe environmental threats, with improper disposal leading to the release of toxic substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium into the ecosystem. This contamination jeopardizes human health and disrupts delicate ecological balances.

Furthermore, the extraction of raw materials for electronics exacerbates environmental degradation, contributing to deforestation and increased energy consumption. Hence, the need for responsible e-waste management cannot be overstated.

The collaboration between educational institutions, media, and industry players exemplifies a commendable effort to educate and inspire action on e-waste management. The well-organized session, orchestrated by the IP faculty including Mrs. Rashmi Sharma, Dr. Mousami Banerjee, Mr. Nikhil Sharma, and Mr. Rohan Shokeen, signifies a collective commitment to fostering environmental stewardship and sustainability.
