ITS Engineering College hosts Women’s day celebrations

ITS Engineering College celebrated Women’s day recently at its campus in Greater Noida.

The women’s day celebration began with an insightful presentation by Dr. A. Ambikapathy, Chairperson of IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group UP Section on the topic Diversity, Inclusion and Allyship: Women Leaders in Engineering. The venue for the program was Naidu Hall that was filled with energy and anticipation due to heavy footfall.

The second guest speaker of the event was Dr. Smita Sharma, former Executive Member of IEEE UP Section currently serving as Head of Institute at Amity University Greater Noida. Technology is a driving force in the world and despite making up more than half of the workforce, women and people from disadvantaged groups remain underrepresented in technology. What are companies doing to improve diversity and drive retention? How can we build inclusive cultures that support equality for all employees? How to advance women throughout their careers, ways people are leading the dialogue on social justice within their own companies, strategies that are being used to increase diversity and inclusion in technology.

Dr. Shashi Bala Rai, founder of Dev Comm Consulting, a leading management firm specializing in teaching, research, and consultancy also express her views about gender equality and empowering women in technology and engineering.

At the end of the program, Prof. Monika Jain, Head Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, ITS Engineering College Greater Noida expressed her gratitude on behalf of IIC to all the students, participants, faculty members for their peaceful listening. However, it would not be wrong to infer that students enjoyed and seemed very much engrossed. Needless to say, students lapped up this breezy opportunity with open arms. Overall it was a wonderful event for everyone, which gave a valuable learning and inspiration to all.
