GREATER NOIDA TENNEWS REPORTER LOKESH GOSWAMI The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics , ITS Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Greater Noida celebrated the Cons & Endo Day on 6 th March 2017.The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Ajay Logani, Prof & Head, Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Centre for Dental Research AIIMS, New Delhi. Also present on the occasion were Prof Anmol S Kalha, Director – PG Studies, Dr. Puneet Ahuja, Principal, Dr Rohit Kochar, Prof & Head Dept of Conservative & Endodontics, all dental and medical HODs, faculty members and students. Dr. Ajay Logani addressed the gathering and told them the importance of Celebrating Cons & Endo day. He told that American Association of Endodontics is celebrating Root Canal awareness week since a decade. He told that main aim ofcelebrating this day is to SUPPORT Endodontists as root canal specialists,EDUCATE patients about the benefits of root canal treatment, DISPEL myths about root canal treatment and BUILD relationships with other dental professionals. He told that it is an excellent time to explain the important role endodontists play in dental health, and to teach the public that root canals should not be feared.Dr Rohit Kochar, Prof & Head welcomed all the invited guests & delivered an inspiring lecture to the young budding endodontists in the specialty. He said that sky is the limit for them. He told that “Endodontists and general dentists enjoy strong working relationships and together they can provide patients with comfortable treatment and positive experiences resulting in high-quality care and optimal outcomes to help them save their natural teeth.” Dr. Anmol S Kalha, Director P.G Studies shared his words of wisdom and addressed the gathering. He told that Cons & Endo Day is celebrated to acknowledge the contributions of Endodontists to society around the world and to raise the profile of the specialty. Dr. Puneet Ahuja, Principal apprised the gathering and emphasized that the job of a dentist today has surpassed taking care of one's teeth or oral health. He said that with the advancements like modern anesthesia, digital imaging and operating microscopes, today’s root canal treatments are often quick and painless.Dept of Conservative Dentistry Organised the Most Charming Smile Contest inwhich Dr Sankalp Arya (Mr Charming Smile) and Dr Aakriti Bhatnagar (Miss Charming Smile ) were adjudged as winner. The event came to an end with the cake cutting ceremony. The function was followed by High Tea for the faculty members and students.
