WORLD DANCE DAY CELEBRATED AT GRADS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Celebrate International Dance Day on April 29, 2023, Inter House Dance Competition was held at Grads International School.  Participants from the four houses – Topaz, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire presented Solo as well as Group Dances. The theme for Solo dance was Indian Folk Dance while each Group Dance emphasized and conveyed a relevant social message.
 The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Vageesh Saraswat, an eminent personality from the world of Hindi Literature, Film and Journalism.
Mrs. Durgeshwari Devi, Kathak Dancer, Co-Founder & Managing Director Gyaneshwari Institute, Greater Noida was the main judge of the competition. Ms Durgeshwari is a disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj & Sushri Mamta Maharaj . Other judges included Ms. Indra Singh, and  Ms Antima Sharma,
The Solo dances included folk dances of Maharashtra, Chhotanagpur,  Bengal and Kumaun.  The Group dances highlighted important messages for social reform like Never Give Up, Tribute to Farmers, Female Foeticide and Smartphone – a boon or a curse. The Solo category was won by the Ruby House while dancers from Sapphire House won the Group Dance competition based on Female Foeticide.
Participants were given certificates and winners were awarded medals.
