Seminar on Conceptual learning was organized in Kaushalya World School on Saturday, 12th October 2019. The teachers of K.W.S. discussed the idea of conceptual learning in different subjects .The seminar saw the presentation of papers from the department of English ,Hindi ,Maths ,Science and Social Science. The teachers from Nursery and primary section also presented their views. The seminar was aimed at incorporation of concepts “Big Ideas” into teaching practice. The main topics covered by the teachers were ‘School Uniform ,Wear it or Not’, ‘Effect of Violent Videos Games’, ‘Conceptual Learning: Methods of learning Mathematics’, ‘Incorporating the Ideas of Conceptual learning in Teaching Shakespearean Tragedy’, ‘Conceptual learning in Social Science: Mind Maps’, ‘Conceptual Learning in Science: Physical and Chemical Changes’ and ‘Vaicharik Shikshan Prastuti: kalinga Vijay’. All the speakers very clearly points out their views about incorporating conceptual learning into their respective subjects.
Papers were presented under the chairmanship of Ms Kaushal Singh. The Keynote address was delivered by vice Principal Ms Anjali Mittal. “The objective of this seminar is to promote innovative and effective pedagogy in classroom”, says Ms Anjali.
Appreciating and encouraging the teachers Chairperson Kaushal Singh said, “Educational seminars should be organized frequently as they accelerate teaching learning process by way of promoting Independent, critical and creative thinking”.
