With the aim of inculcating in students a spirit of discipline and willingness to serve the country, 40 NCC Boys’ Battalion, Sikandrabad organised a ten-day 122 Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at Delhi Public School, Greater Noida from May 20-29,2019. Sixty boy cadets and seventy-four girl cadets from the host school and about 500 students from schools across the NCR participated in the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Brigadier S P Sinha, who was presented the Guard of Honour by the smartly turned out cadets. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal, Mrs. Renu Chaturvedi said that participating in camp activities teaches students important life skills such as camaraderie, discipline, self-control, time –management and team work.
The highlights of the camp were an impressive Yoga Display by an array of NCC cadets and a mock fire drill involving the Fire Department of the district and NCC Trainers. The Disaster Management event attended by nearly 2000 students, was indeed an effective measure to train students to save themselves during such eventualities.
The ten-day long camp drew to a close with all the cadets solemnly pledging themselves to always uphold the NCC motto of ‘Unity and Discipline’.
