Awareness Drive on Road Safety by Pragyan School, Greater Noida

Pragyan School’s Interact Club students along with members of Rotary Club, Green Greater Noida organized an awareness drive on road safety. First, the students and Rotarians went to the busy round about near Jagat Farm Market, Sector Gamma, with placards to raise awareness among the pedestrians and drivers of vehicles. They, with the help of traffic police personnel stopped people driving from the wrong side and guided them how their small mistake can end up in major accidents.

Later, on returning from the awareness campaign, the Sub Inspector of Traffic Police, Shri Rakesh Kumar along with Shri Balbir Singh, through a very interactive and interesting session made the children aware about the reasons of road accidents in India and how they can be curtailed. They reiterated that India, which unfortunately ranks no. 1 in the world in terms of no. of deaths due to road accidents, needs such campaigns regularly.

The Rotarians applauded the efforts of the school’s Interact Club and School Principal Ms. Ruchika Sharma in always coming forward as torchbearers for society and doing commendable work for the society and nation. The programme ended with everyone taking a pledge to follow all traffic rules and making our roads safer.
