Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, I.T.S. Engineering College, Greater Noida has organized an industrial visit to Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corporation.
Prof. (Dr.) Monika Jain, Head of EEE Dept. & Kalpana Hazarika, A.P , have coordinated the students for the Industrial Visit.
Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corporation (TPSC), is an Engineering, Procurement and Construction company under the flagship of the power industry giant
TOSHIBA CORPORATION, with its base in Japan, TPSC has been in the business with Toshiba since 1938. While the company has executed projects in other industrial sectors such as iron & steel, paper, environment & public facilities, transportation, airport, communication, cogeneration, buildings and office automations, its focus and core competence has been on power projects. TPSC (India) Private Limited is extensively expended their work in the Thermal, Combined Cycle, Diesel Based, Hydro-Electric and Non conventional energy Power Plants in India along with in other countries of Middle East & South Asia.
Students have got a bigger exposure to witness the extended work dimensions of TPSC starting from Hydro Turbine Manufacturing Plant visit to their Procurement and Logistic Dept.
Visit started with Assemble House where, Sr. Supervisor, M. Sarkar, Nagendra & Yogesh Sharma, A team of TPSC has demonstrated various types of Hydroelectric Turbines like- Frencis Runner, Pelton Runners etc. Explicit demonstration of a 12 MW capacity under construction Pelton Wheel Turbine has remained a real realization of hydroelectric power plats working, configuration, integration of different modules and their importance. The visit also included their workshop where the product is given final shape as per required specification.
Brijraj Singh, Assistant Manager (Procurement & Logistics)- TPSC India has briefed about Business Expansion of Toshiba Group of Company , Tokyo Japan, in the markets worldwide in different domains since 1938. He said, understanding of basics of Electrical Engineering Core Subjects and associated relevant experience will help to grab opportunities by engineers in bigger companies like Toshiba, Adani etc.
