The ‘White Coat Ceremony’ was held on Friday 25th January 2019 at Vivekananda Auditorium of I.T.S Dental College, Hospital and Research Centre, Greater Noida.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Maj Gen Satish R Iyer, Additional Director General Dental Services of the Army Dental Corps. Also present on the occasion was Vice Chairman, I.T.S – The Education Group- Mr Sohil Chadha , Secretary Mr B.K Arora, Principal – Dr Sachit Anand Arora, students, parents and all Dental & Medical HOD’s.
The programme started with procession march of the proud students of BDS 3rd year into the auditorium for the White Coat Ceremony followed by invocation to Goddess Saraswati and lamp lighting done by the dignitaries.
Chief Guest, Maj Gen Satish R Iyer addressed the gathering and mentioned that he was honored to be part of the ceremony. In his address, he said “The Ceremony actually changes the way, the way you change your outlook so Stand by and Believe what is Right.”He motivated the students through his words of wisdom and emphasized importance of building trust between doctor and patient. He said that “White Coat Ceremony is a memorable occasion and Patient is your Client to be treated in best possible manner with best skills in dentistry” and told that way to excel in Clinical world is discipline, hard work and compassion.
Hon. Vice Chairman, Mr Sohil Chadha in his address told that I.T.S Dental College is committed in imparting quality education and clinical training. He told that Patient should be treated as King and he should be treated with utmost dedication and respect.
Secretary, Mr B.K Arora spoke about the fine quality of education being rendered by the Institution. He said that today I.T.S- The Education Group has emerged as leading name in the education especially for training high class dental surgeons. He also told about the importance of doctors in the lives of common people. He complimented on the work done by the Institution for the poor and needy people. He emphasized that the education received by all students should be used for welfare of the society and growth of the nation. He also congratulated the hard work put in by the students , teachers and their parents towards achieving this milestone in life.
Principal, Dr. Sachit Anand Arora shared his words of wisdom and addressed the gathering. He said that this present ceremony is a moment in life to reflect with a focus on social skills, human attitude and values. He also apprised the gathering with achievements of college. He emphasized upon development of soft skills, patient management, clinical skills that college is going to impart to the students. He further added that I.T.S Dental College is making its best efforts that students get top quality education and implement the clinical knowledge on the patients. He also shared his personal experience during his graduation about the doctor- patient trust and relationship. He wished the BDS third year students for entering into clinical domain and to do their best in relieving the pain of their patients. He told the students that now studies from classroom have shifted to clinics where you will learn and practice dentistry for rest of your career. He told them that they should provide highest standard of ethical care to the patients as individuals and meet the needs of the society.
The ceremony concluded with Vote of Thanks followed with National Anthem.The Function ended with a sumptuous lunch for the Faculty, Guests, Parents & students
