There is a new danger in the city and it’s not the rising crime. Over past few weeks a lot of telephone towers have been erected in residential areas all over Greater Noida. Allahabad High Court in 2013 banned installation of telephone towers in residential areas. However, today in Greater Noida, we are finding people openly flouting the Law. Greater Noida Authority has turned a blind eye to the menace. It is not even prepared to listen to the grievances of people. On 4th August 2016, the residents staged a protest in Greater Noida Authority against the health threat posed to the people from the radiations of the towers. However, there was no response from the Authority.
If telephone towers keep on getting erected in residential areas at the present rate, then there will be a severe health crisis among the children and families of Greater Noida, which will lead to dangerous consequence for the city.
