After he was removed from the post of CBI Director, Alok Verma said, "It is sad that I was transferred to another post… based on false, unsubstantiated and frivolous allegations made by only one person." Stating CBI must function without "external influences", he said he had aimed to uphold its integrity even when there had been attempts to destroy it.
