USE YOUR BODY TO CHARGE YOUR MOBILE AN INVENTION BY SHAMMI KUMAR MANGALMAY INSTITUTE
TN- HOW DID YOU GET THIS IDEA?
SK- I got this idea at Google fair award 2015 but at that time I was over aged for the award. But after one year girl student presented the idea for torch light. I took this challenge to make other device and powered by energy from the body and from that idea I built the human body mobile charger.
TN- What’s the USP of your device?
SK – The main point is that take heat from your body and charge a phone as it is very easy to capture body heat because we are warm blooded animals and through out the year our body temperature is thirty seven degrees and if you can maintain a ten degree difference between the body and external environment mobile can charge.
TN- What is the backup of your device?
SK- We have solar tiles on the device so it can also charge from it, but back up remains always through out the day as body is continuously emanating heat and its constantly produces that much energy , which can be used to generate enough energy to charge mobile.
TN- Is it compatible to all mobiles?
SK – It is compatible to all mobiles it can charge android phone and have batter nearly 3000Mh. So it’s more than enough for any types of mobile and works very well with all types of mobile.
TN- What are your plans for manufacturing this device?
SK- Yes there , are many plans to manufacture this device and I am in talks with the two companies of South India but still some works to be done and I am working on it as the solar tiles need to be in curvy shape as it need to capture more heat as area of contact is more and for it we need company to make peltier tiles as it’s flexible for body and equipments.
TN- How Mangalmay institute has supported in your endeavour?
SK- Institute helped me in many ways like executing the idea, how to make it reality. They also provided me lot of financial help and they gave me a chance to do something extraordinary. Even when I wasn’t able to attend classes, institute was so cooperative and made it flexible for me to work hard on it and gave me ample time to make the device. The teachers also supported me in a way that I should carry on studying and also working in making this device.
