Under the excellent leadership of upright district magistrate Shri NP Singh and the entire team of officials of the administration checkmated illegal sand miners. The New York Times Magazine first time ever in the history has acknowledged the fact that Shri NP Singh’s effort to stop illegal sand mining on Yamuna flood plains has been very successful. The New York Times Magazine in it’s special feature on sand mining has praised Shri NP Singh’s campaigns and drives against illegal sand miners in the district. In his article the journalist has acknowledged that Shri NP Singh ji is the only district magistrate, who has been successful in containing illegal sand mining wherever he served in the Uttar Pradesh. The journalist had also toured Shamli and Haridwar districts for the story. The New York Times Magazine has written that Shri NP Singh during his tenure in these two districts also acted strongly against illegal sand miners using the provisions of law.
