International Vintage Car Rally & Concours Show, finale.After two days of heritage motoring indulgence, the third day at the 21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car Rally &Concours Show was a day dedicated to the overdrive. The extended weekend celebration concluded at the Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida.The full-day affair began at dawn when an estimated 100 vehicles were flagged off by, Honourable General Bipin Rawat,Chief of the Army Staff, Indian Army from the India Gate and assembled at the Formula 1 Circuit.The rally started from historic- INDIA GATE, August Kranti Park, moving Straight Towards RASTRAPATI BHAWAN, then on to PURANA QILA ROAD & then Continue Straight following the Mahatma Gandhi Marg – Budha Temple – DND Toll, then moving towards Greater Noida, continued straight towards Ambedkar Park – Following Greater Noida Express Way towards
Sports City (B.I.C), the rally culminated at the Subway (Gate no- 1) for Buddha International Circuit, Greater Noida.
The city woke up to a striking show of vintage & classic beauties that dominated the city’s roads. The legendary 1912 Rolls
Royce Silver Ghost, 1967 Phantom 5, 1922 Moon, 1927 Lanchester and 1933 Cadillac V12 7 Passenger Limousine along with other finest handpicked vintage Cars raced on the Buddha International Formula 1 racing track, Greater Noida. Vintage & classic cars from Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, UP, Tamil Naidu, Gujarat, MP, Maharashtra and various other parts of the country were participated at the 21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car rally & Concours Show, 2017. The category races & Concours was open to spectators, who enjoyed the ceremonial drive and category races that were held according to the age of the vintage & classic beauties. The 7 th edition of 21 Gun Salute Vintage Car Rally &Concours Show, for the second time hosted the event of having exquisite treasures on wheels at the most hi-tech Formula 1 racing track, Greater Noida . Cultural performances like Kathak, Kathakali, Bharatnatyam, Ghoomar, & Nagaland Folk dance performed in between category races, was visual magic. Each year, the Concours offers a varied mix of historically significant vehicles. This year’s selection was among the most diverse in recent history that included cars ranging from the 1912 Rolls Royce to the 1971 Ford Mustang. Rare cars from around the country participated in this event, a majority of which have never been showcased before. The highlight of this year’s event was one of the 21 ever made, 1967 Rolls-Royce, Phantom V and the 1912 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, U.K.Cadillac, Ford and Rolls-Royce are familiar nameplates, but for the first time the unheralded and rare, one of the 9 existing and 11 ever made,1939 Delahaye (Figoniet Falaschi) was present at the show field. The event was a live opportunity to look into the evolution of motoring amidst the rich heritage of vintage machines that raced as a symbol of pride, luxury and rare technical excellence of their era. “We wish to explore this rally into a heritage journey across various cities starting from Delhi. The idea is to not just showcase our motor heritage but also explore the internal beauty of our country, the rural and the virgin regions otherwise untouched,” said Mr. Madan Mohan, Chairman of 21 Gun Salute Heritage & Cultural Trust.
