Galgotias University received the members of cycle expedition from Modinagar to Lucknow

GREATER NOIDA TENNEWS REPORTER LOKESH GOSWAMI Galgotias University received the members of cycle expedition from Modinagar to Lucknow. The expedition of 11 NCC cadets from 35 UP Battalion is led by Lt. Colonel Vishal Ahlawat. The aim of this expedition is to convey message of cashless, clean, green and healthy India through a cycle rally. It will inculcate the spirit of adventure in the cadets from rural background and instill a confidence and a sense of pride as they will be cycling over the Asia’s first cycling highway and cover 618 kilometers distance in 03 days. The team will get a change to meet the Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh along with the UP NCC RDC Contingent in the state capital Lucknow.

Lt. Colonel Vishal Ahlawat planted saplings in the Herbal gardens at Galgotias University Campus and interacted with the University students. He motivated the students by sharing his experiences of various mountain expeditions, cycling expeditions and other adventure sports. Lt. Col. Ahlawat has to his credit a cycle rally from Kanyakumari to Jammu & Kashmir. He also holds a Limca Book Record of leading an expedition to Mount Everest of 11 women NCC team as deputy leader along with Col. Gaurav Karki as the team leader in two attempts on 21st and 22nd May 2016. In his speech he explained the need of a cashless, clean, green and healthy India.

After spending 45 minutes at the campus, the team headed for Agra, which is their next destination. He was given a send off by Dr. Animesh Singh who is a faculty member at the School of Business, Galgotias University.
