Ryanites conducted water sanitation test to access water quality

Ryan Greater Noida students conducted WATER SANITATION TEST in their lab under the guidance of teachers and resource person Mr. Anjani Kumar. The students of classes 6-11 participated in it. The objective of this workshop was to access water quality by using the water sanitation kit. The students learnt to check the quality of water. Various experiments were conducted by different groups of students. Each group had 6-7students. They explained each and every step of the experiment they performed. They were glad for such an opportunity. In this workshop students learnt to understand the different parameters for water quality assessment and usage of the test kit.

The tests performed included methods to check the amount of impurities present in water such as chlorine, iron, fluorine, and also checking the hardness of water. Students calculated the values according to the Indian Standards. There were tests performed to check the pH level and the Turbudity.

More than 60 students from classes 7th , 8th and 9th participated in the workshop and enjoyed thoroughly as they attempted the test practically. It included permissible limit for drinking water (5-10 NTU), chloride permissible limit for drinking water (250-1000 mg per liter), nitrate limit of portable water limit (45 mg per liter max). Items in the tinkering lab for project were shown as follows-

Water flow sensor, rain drop sensor, buzzer, humidity sensor, light sensor, temperature sensor. At the end of the workshop it was practical knowledge which was focused on and was appreciated by the students. It is basically how one can guide other people about the purity of water using a portable water kit.

Precautionary measures were also explained spokesperson gave project work to student on topics like moisture sensing, arduino, water pump, relay etc. Dipit of class 11th explained the project(smart farming) made by him in front of the students in ATL workshop.
