Malnutrition still on rise among district children, adoption scheme fails to make impact

For making the district free from malnutrition, state government had asked the officers to adopt villages. Six month time period was allotted for this which is now over. However till now nothing has been done on ground. It has come to light that officers have not been serious regarding this.

Indeed district administration is saying that they had made 23 village free from malnutrition but many sources from ground claim that if a survey is done regarding the same, hardly a single village will be found where rate of malnutrition has declined in past months. Once again in the district overall rate of malnutrition among children’s is increasing. Over which senior officer have expressed their displeasure as well as they had visited the village to monitor the ground reality. They found that appointed officers had never visited the villages yet and restriction over midday meal by the administration had made the condition more worse.

For now district had around two thousand children suffering from excessive malnutrition and this number is increasing. Locks are hanging over many Anganbadi Kendra. Now administration has taken note of the situation and CDO had ordered to prepare a list of such officers who have shown negligence towards the government scheme.
