I.T.S ENGINEERING COLLEGE, Greater Noida Celebrates World Heritage Day

I.T.S Engineering College, Greater Noida celebrated World Heritage Day on April 18th. World Heritage is the shared wealth of humankind. Protecting and preserving this valuable asset demands the collective efforts of the international community. This special day offers an opportunity to raise the public’s awareness about the diversity of cultural heritage and the efforts that are required to protect and conserve it, as well as draw attention to its vulnerability. On 18 April 1982 on the occasion of a symposium organised by ICOMOS in Tunisia, the holding of the "International Day for Monuments and Sites" to be celebrated simultaneously throughout the world was suggested.

The event was graced by the honourable dignitaries- Padam Dr. R.S Bisht (Former Joint Director General, Archeological Survey Of India), Vikas Singh- Executive Director, I.T.S Education group and Dr. Sanjay Yadav – Dean Student’s Welfare.

Prof. Vikas Singh,Executive Director, I.T.S Engineering College shared his Views by highlighted the Antiquity of Istanbul, Qutab Minar and Mohanjo-Daro and also shared his insight on the town Planning of Various Heritage Sites.

Later the event started with an Guest Lecture on Dholavira And Indus Civilisation by our Chief Guest Padam Shri Dr. R.S Bisht, Former Joint Director General, Archeological Survey of India. Dr. Bisht Englighted the students about the various kinds of houses which used to be constructed during the Indus Valley Civilisation..

Seeing the success of the event, it was decided to celebrate it with more activities and, may be for a longer duration from the next time.
