The residents of Sector Beta-1 in Greater Noida on Monday urged Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to repair the damaged streetlights in the sector and also complaint about the polluted water coming in some of the houses.
The demand was made during the visit of GNIDA officials including deputy general manager Ashok Arora, manager Shalinder Singh and manager (health) Umesh Tyagi. Residents said that most of the streetlights are not functional and those which are functional are hidden under the trees, which have not been grafted from long.
“There were many problems of the people and we are committed to redress them at the earliest. Streetlights and maintenance of park would be done immediately. Subsequently, works which require tender work will be taken up,” said Arora. Residents also told the DGM that fencing wire across the sector has been damaged, because of which stray animals come inside. They told him that even after requests no action has been taken by the authority so far.
